What does Trim do?

Trim automates saving you money. Let Trim do the hard work for you -- including negotiating your bills, contesting bank fees, canceling old subscriptions, getting you out of debt, and automatically building towards your savings goals. Trim saves customers over $600 in their first year on average and we’ve helped thousands of users get on better financial footing.

Plus, we’re quickly building out additional features to help our users better understand their finances, make informed decisions and save more money. Stay tuned for new features rolling out.

How do I sign up for Trim?

You can sign up at go.asktrim.com with your email address, Google login, or Facebook login. Once you create an account, you’ll be prompted to verify your phone number so that we can make sure you are you! Then, upload a bill we can negotiate or securely connect your primary bank account and/or credit card so Trim can start finding savings and recommendations for you.

Is Trim free?

Trim is mostly free! You have access to most features of Trim at no cost to you! If you enroll in our most popular feature, Bill Negotiation, we will charge you 15% of the total first year of savings. We won’t charge you if we don’t save you money.

Is Trim secure?

Yes — extremely. We use 256-bit SSL encryption on our website, encrypted databases and two-factor authentication or OAuth when you sign in. You can read more here.

What do you do with my data?

Your data is only used for you — we never sell it. We safeguard your data using bank-level security at all times. We don’t ever share your data with third parties.

Do you support my bank?

Most likely! We support more than 15,000 U.S. financial institutions.

Where is Trim available?

Most of our services are available throughout the United States. Medical Bill Negotiation and Bank Negotiation are available in 44 states and currently unavailable in AK, AR, CT, DC, MA, RI & VT.

How does bill negotiation work?

First, you provide us with the information we need about your service provider account and current bill by either uploading or sending us a bill, or logging in through our platform. Once we have that information, we get to work on finding better plans and promotions. Don’t be alarmed if you are notified that someone is calling about your account—that’s most likely us.

Once you provide us with your bills or service provider credentials, we will negotiate savings on your behalf on an ongoing basis. If you have recently negotiated your own bill or you are about to cancel your existing service plan, please let us know so we can remove you from our bill negotiation system.
